Summary
The Samsung Galaxy W I8150 is one of many upcoming Android phones in the Samsung Galaxy line-up. Our Samsung Galaxy W review will cover the features and specifications of this smartphone. Additionally, this device is expected to be coming soon with a release date in 2011 sometime. Although it is not currently in stores, it was announced publicly earlier this month. Some of the other phones coming in this series include the Samsung Galaxy M Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Y Pro.
The Samsung Galaxy W I8150 specs are somewhat average. The processor looks to be something new considering it is clocked at 1400 Mhz. Many other smartphones have been using Nvidia Tegra 2′s or the Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU’s, as they are dual-core. However, a single-core CPU that this speed should be sufficient for this device. There is no mention yet of how much RAM will be included, but it will probably be either 512 MB or 1 GB total. Again, for running basic Android apps on the new Android Gingerbread OS, this phone will perform well enough.
Jumping over to the Galaxy W’s design, it looks like a standard candy-bar style phone that uses an on-screen keyboard. The display is about 3.7 inches and has a 480 x 800 resolution (in pixels). Besides this, there are many extra features like an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and touch-sensitive buttons that now seem standard in today’s Android smartphone.
Overall, this new handset from Samsung is packing many essential features, but could almost be considered a mid-range or budget level phone. I do not expect it will have a very high price tag, but if your looking for power, this certainly isn’t the phone or tablet your looking for.
